Q: What does this game entail?
A. This game is an interactive murder mystery based around the town centre of Henley on Thames. It will include real-life puzzles, digital puzzles (websites, SMS, etc), and characters you can interact with to unveil the truth of the setting. The game is based at the Red Lion Hotel with time at the start and end to relax, review the collected information, and have a drink & a snack.
Q. How are you keeping me safe from COVID-19?
A. We’re doing lots to keep our players, staff and actors safe during the pandemic, so much in fact, we’ve got a whole page dedicated to it! Click here to read it
Q. What time should I arrive?
A. We are running five sessions on the 5th of September. There will be a short period of time before the session starts for players to relax, read the briefing document, and purchase a snack or a drink. We recommend arriving up to 15 minutes before the event start time, but no later than the event start time.
Q: Is this event suitable for children?
A. The game features puzzles set at an adult level of difficulty, mature themes, and naughty words, therefore there is an age limit of 16+. If you would like someone below this age to join your team please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange an exception.
Q: Will the event be held in one location?
A. Although the central hub is the Red Lion Hotel in Henley on Thames, players will have to walk around Henley to find clues and solve puzzles. It will be no more than 15 minutes in any direction, however, you will be walking next to some potentially busy roads so be prepared!
Q: What do I need to bring?
A. A charged mobile phone for puzzles, a sturdy pair of shoes, and a group of friends with an attitude for adventure! A notebook and pen could come in handy also.
Q: Where can I park?
A. There is very limited parking available at the Red Lion Hotel, so we’d recommend parking in the Greys road or Kings road car park, just a 5 minutes walk from the Red Lion Hotel.
Both are free from 3pm onwards on Saturdays.
Q: Will food/drink be provided?
A. The Red Lion Hotel will be running a bar with various snacks available purchase before and after the main puzzlehunt. Please do not bring external food and drink into the venue.
Q: How many people can be on my team?
A. We recommend teams of 2-6 people. Government regulations requirements require a maximum of 6 players in a team. However, if your party is more than 6, you can always split into multiple teams to compete against each other! We encourage groups to stay together throughout the event as it’s more fun to work as a team.
